After exhaustive historical research, Abbey has decided that Rob should wear Rosettes with his slashed sleeve doublet as they are the very pinnacle of 17th century sartorial elegance - or something like that...

He dresses quite formally, IMHO they wouldn't suit his sombre style of attire.
He gives the air of an officer who wishes to impress his peers by being a good leader, and not wishing to look too much the dandy.
