Good find, Gruff.
What do you folks reckon should be our back story - are we remnants of the Royalist force taking our ease, or members of the Godly preparing for the night attack on the Rouyalist encampment south of the town (the event is being held on the park north of the town, the direction from which the NMA came)? |

NMA every time of course! (I'm shocked you even had to ask!)
There is another interesting article about the battle on the BBC h2g2 site which states that:
"According to local legend some Cavaliers were surprised at the Front House, now a local 'Bed and Breakfast', where they fled upstairs to hide. When it became clear that the Roundheads were aware of their presence, the Cavaliers threw their money into the street and made their escape while the poorly-paid Parliamentarians lined their pockets."

How much fun would it be to do a little cameo of this?! |

I'd heard this one too - oit is known in the town. I'll put it to the organisers. The only thing that might count against us is that we are but one piece within a larger charter fair. |
