Received our formal invite over the weekend and have expressed our willingness to go.

Could people let me know if they would consider it as an option no matter how remote, as I have a couple of thoughts about how better to enable people to come.

That's great guys.

As to accomodation. In the past we have been hosted by local members. If there are many more of us going (and this is sounding probable) then that will almost certainly change. I'll have a word with my contact and find out what they suggest.

Would love to go but chances are remote. Still, if I can, I will (with family as well).

Is there any movement on this front? Are people travelling individually or is there a minibus mooted? Would be interested to know in the unlikely event I could go for a long weekend.

Unless a minbus is arranged we might end up taking the train since Abbey is not the biggest fan of travelling on das Autobahn. Either that, or if someone could take my musket we could fly - presumably it would be fairly straightforward to get there from Munich?

My recollection of camping in Germany a few years ago is that it was good and not too expensive. Perhaps we could stay a few days - I'd certainly like to take a wander around Regensburg.

We'll probably drive down ourselves, depending on timings (Joe is off on a diving course in Egypt somewhere around then, and it's conference season for me and the book will be nearly out...)

I agree about visiting Regensberg.

Given that we're in Germany for a week in late April/early May and Gordon and Alicia are having a week away with the Camper club as well, we can't make Schierling our major holiday for 2010 (well I could but Gordon can't).
This means flying to Munich for a long weekend visit.

Just found this video of the skirmish on Saturday:

Paul is clearly in shot a couple of times. Don, Tim and myself can only really be seen as we march off.
